How To Prevent From Breast Cancer – Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I would take the time to write a post focusing on diet and lifestyle choices that can reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Despite my many articles on hormone balance and women’s health in all my years of blogging, this is something I have never written about. I think breast cancer (or any cancer) is one of those things where you pray it never happens to you or someone you know, but it does. Since 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and each of us knows more than eight women, a breast cancer diagnosis can affect us or someone we know. Last year my MIL was diagnosed with breast cancer. And if you’ve read HH for any length of time, you know that my relationship with MIL is about as opposite of Monster In Law as you’re going to get. She is the primary caregiver for our children while I work. We spend Sunday brunch with them and Friday game nights. It’s about as charming as it gets until it’s not. Tests, operations, wait, pray, repair and repeat.

Ten months later, my MIL is breast cancer free, but she lives daily with the side effects of hormone suppressants (as do many of her friends who have recovered from breast cancer.) It doesn’t end when they are removed. Although of course this is a huge relief. It is a daily battle of mind, body and soul. Her story is one of many I know now, including a colleague who was diagnosed at 35 and relapsed this year at 55. Her sister and mother have different types of breast cancer. So, no genetic link, but still an entire immediate family with breast cancer. The stories continue. Every time I hear this, I want to know more about the cause and what can be done to prevent it. So today’s post will focus on prevention, but I won’t just list the same things you see on all the big sites. I will find out why. I will also list things about diet and lifestyle that are typically left off the quick lists but can be found when you dig into the study.

Why Is Left Breast Cancer More Common

If there was a pill that could replenish your body with vital nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and fight inflammation, you’d take it, wouldn’t you? Yes you do. But we don’t need pills. We need as many products as possible in our diet. There is no direct link between X-cup products and a reduced risk of breast cancer. However, there is a link between a plant-based diet and a reduced risk of breast cancer. But I have a hard time believing that a bunch of fake meat is better for your body. Instead, fill your plate with products of every color and variety, at least 2 cups or two feasts per meal to dominate your plate. These foods are rich in fiber, and there is a proven link between high-fiber foods and a reduced risk of breast cancer. All plant foods contain fiber, especially vegetables and fruits (see below).

Nothing makes me feel healthier than drinking a glass of green juice. To help increase your produce intake, you can also include green juice and green smoothies in your diet daily (but I don’t recommend diets or cleanses of all green juice or green smoothies. Get in one more big salad a day . In one sitting, a cup of sesame seeds, cucumber, romaine lettuce, you can’t eat lemons and a small apple, but you can drink it. But a word of warning, keep your green juice in a 4:1 ratio of vegetables to fruits Green juicing should also be a supplement to your diet, not a meal replacement.You lose fiber when you juice, and fiber is very effective in reducing cancer risk.is it!

Don’t eat fake fiber sources that break your stomach. Look at your fiber one bar. But include fiber-rich foods like ground flaxseeds, chia seeds, avocados, strawberries, beans, and other plant-based foods every day. Fiber has been linked to a reduced risk of breast cancer and other forms of cancer. This is because hormone levels drop by binding to hormone metabolites and removing them from the body.

In research, we see a link between high-fat milk and the recurrence of breast cancer, but it is not a cause, and there is no link with early diagnosis. That said, I always recommend organic, 100% grass-fed, high-quality, full-fat dairy, except for breast cancer prevention. Then perhaps focus on low-fat skimmed milk. However, the research is not strong or definitive in this area.

Can Breastfeeding Prevent Breast Cancer?

Despite the high level of research linking breast cancer and BPA and other chemicals from plastics, I am amazed at how little is said about plastic exposure. However, you won’t see this on any major Dot Goover breast cancer site. It’s honestly both annoying and hilarious. Women who work in plastic and rubber factories are twice as likely to develop breast cancer. Chemicals from plastic affect brain health in fetuses in the womb, brain development in childhood and our endocrine system (hormones) in adulthood. This is a strong link, with several studies supporting the risk. Limit plastic anywhere in your home. Choose from glass, stainless steel and silicone. And after you have your cookware, storage containers, drink containers, etc. replaced, take the next step and look at filtration systems and plumbing in your home.

Use the EWG website to review your skin care and home care products. Although no chemical (except plastic) can cause breast cancer, many compounds are associated with an increased risk of all cancers, including breast cancer. A good example of this is perfume (a category of 4000 plus chemicals), both natural and synthetic, which has been linked to birth defects, hormonal imbalances and is considered carcinogenic in many countries. Not all “natural” brands are safe. Essential oils can disrupt hormonal balance to some extent. The best thing to do is do your research on a skin-deep website and try things out until you find what works for you. Don’t replace everything at once. Just do one thing. Every step is one in the right direction. Focus first on the things you apply to the larger parts of your body, such as lotion and sunscreen, and then move on.

There appears to be a dose-dependent relationship between alcohol and breast cancer. The more you drink, the greater the risk. Alcohol increases estrogen and other cancer-related hormones in the body. Alcohol can contribute to excess weight gain; Adipose tissue produces more estrogen and inflammatory compounds, which contribute to the risk of cancer.

To keep your drinking risk low, you should stay at or below one drink a day. And from my understanding it is not average. So if you have two one day and none the next, it may not be the same as having one drink a day. And it is doubly recommended to avoid anything 100 proof, because the stronger the alcohol, the more serious the problem.

Again, excess weight, especially in the abdomen, contributes to inflammation. Inflammation contributes to the pathogenesis of many chronic and acute health conditions, including certain types of cancer. Weight status is associated with risk in both pre- and post-menopause. A meta-analysis that combined results from 16 studies found that every 11 kilograms a woman gained after age 18 increased the risk of breast cancer by 7 percent. There is a risk of premenopausal weight gain, which affects the risk of premenopause and postmenopause. There is an increased risk for people who gain weight after menopause, which is unfortunate because menopause is a very common and time to gain weight.

It is recommended to maintain a healthy body weight throughout your life to reduce the risk. It is best to enter menopause at a healthy weight.

Well, of course, exercising burns calories, which helps you maintain a healthy weight. But what else is there?

“Several studies have shown that women who exercise have a lower risk of breast cancer than women who are inactive. In a 2016 meta-analysis that included 38 cohort studies, the most active women were 12-21% less likely to develop breast cancer than those who exercised less (7). Physical activity is associated with a reduced risk of breast cancer among premenopausal and postmenopausal women (7,8). Postmenopausal women who increase their physical activity may have a lower, if not lower, risk of developing breast cancer (9,10).

Why? It is less clear. There are many factors that can contribute to a lower risk from exercise, including maintaining a healthy weight, improving gender hormone balance, improving insulin resistance, and reducing inflammation. But not too cut and
